Took a few hours...

After work to see if i could get into some wipers. once again that was a big no for me. i did manage a few small smallies and i think some largemouths. they were all small so that was a bummer

Sunshine

The sun came back out for a couple of days so after work I met matt on the river in hopes of seeing or moving some fish on Salmon flies. we found a few adults coming off and flying around but it wasn't many. moved a few fish on salmon flies but they also weren't many. finally found a salmon fly coming out of its shuck so that was cool for me. 

Another dreary day

Dreary, rainy days are usually not conducive to throwing most dry flies so it was another streamer day.  me and matt threw streamer but it was a pretty slow morning. we got into a few fish but it was pretty blah

A couple rain days

A couple rain days broke up the good dry fly weather so i loaded back up with my streamer gear and headed out. it was a pretty solid day, got into a good number of fish. as happens a lot, i missed the bigger fish i saw but landed plenty of 17-18 inch fish. the wet weather was nice as i had no competition on the water i was fishing. i ended up moving downstream a couple of times once a finished a piece. i will say the lower i got the less fish i saw.

Back for more dry fly action

Went back on my day off for some more dry fly action. was hoping to see a few more bugs coming off but there were only a few bugs buzzing and i couldnt turn many heads either. the weather was good but the fishing was pretty slow. managed a few though so it was still a good morning out

Another day on Dries

Me and matt drove over to some small water since there had been some dry fly action there a couple days before and there are a decent amount of bugs coming off there. the fishing was fairly slow so once we were done we were going to drive over to a different water system but decided to stop and give the a different fork of the river we fished in the morning a quick look. the fishing there was so much better and for such a small stream we were surprised with a few fish in the 18 inch range. it ended up being a pretty kick ass day

 

Spring

The temps dropped a little so we chose to go throw some streamers. it was pretty slow but matt did muster a pretty solid fish. the weather was pretty good and the flows were decent as well

Dry fly season

Dry fly season has taken place for me. i went out last week to see what kind of top water action was going on or what i could get into. the water was up a bit. but clear and fishable. there were some blue wings and brown drakes coming off but didnt see any heads come up. i threw a purple haze and missed 5 but didnt get any to hand. even with no fish it was still fun throwing dries and fishing my 3 weight.
