A Few Hours

I was anxious to get out since i was laid up last weekend with a bad back. the weather was great and the fish were done with the spawn. i covered quite a bit of water but could only muster one fish, which took a pig sticker.

Still on Redds

I had plans to do a little road trip today but didn't have the gas money so jerry drove up to my neck of the woods. i was hoping that the fish would be off the redds but i think since the weather has been a bit warm lately maybe it has slowed down their getting busy process. alot of redds were empty some there was still plenty that were active. some fish have started to filter into their usual lies so hopefully it won't be to much longer before all redds are vacant.

Montanaesque

Me jake and dbone fished a little something out of the norm. we started on some ponds which proved less then desireable. i have pulled some nice fish out of these ponds and seen some bigger ones but we couldn't make it happen today. we then fished up the river which was new to all of us and at ceartain spots it had me reminded of when i was living in montana. a combination of the scenery and the looks of the stream had me thinking of montana. it is one of the most beautiful places i've seen in utah.

A Small Change of Pace

After dropping the kids off at school i drove out to a local lake to see what i could muster up. i've heard of 10lbers coming out of there but i certainly didn't even come close. my cutties were taken on a brown conehead bugger and my 'bows' on a small chironomid. it's nice to change it up and hit a lake once in awhile.

Winter at 10,000ft.

Is colder then a witch's tit in a brass bra, i knew it was gonna be cold though. driving up the snow covered dirt road there were a few times i was wondering if i was even gonna make it due to the amount of snow. i did finally make it and when i got out of the jeep there wasn't  a hint of wind and it was reasonably warm and sunny. once i made the short walk through the trees to the lake, the wind made it's presence felt. the lake had a decent amount of ice on it so i was only able to fish one side of it and only about 1/2 of that. i only mustered a couple of colored up brookies, did have a few other nice fish follow but not commit. i fished until my hands were freezing agony and called it a day.
