The Mid Week Plus

the main plus about fishing mid week, especially in the freezing cold, is that you dont generally have any competition on the water. there were 3 different sections we were looking at fishing but as it turned out, there was so little water coming thru the dam that the bottom 2 sections we thought about fishing were about 70% froze over. we had to go straight to the upper section and luckily there was no one there, in fact there wasnt anybody there the whole afternoon. with the water being so low the fish were super spooky which made for some tough fishing. we didnt get skunked but there were only a small few to hand. flows showed just under 100, but it seemed more like around 50 to me.

Loop Customer Service

I have to give a shout out to loop. when i came home on vacation back in may i sent in a couple broken loop rods and a loop FW reel that i had bounce checked off my jeep going down the highway. the foot was bent and a put a few nice dings in the reel which i blended out to my satisfaction. i finally got back home 2 weeks ago and checked out my returned merchandise and to my surprise they sent me a brand new reel. i was really just looking for the foot to be replaced since that was the only discrepancy that i listed for it. i just thought that was pretty cool of them.

extremely slow

yet another extremely slow streamer day. 3 of us chucked streamers on water that none of us have fished in a few year due to stream access being taken away from the public again. now that we, the public, have it back its time to get into some waters that have been untouchable for the last few years. due to the lack of snow and run-off for the last few years , it was exactly as i remembered it. we caught a few smaller fish but it was still good to get out. it snowed on us most of the day and it was a bit chilly. for as much great looking water as we covered there just isnt much to write home about.

beautiful december day

arranged to meet up with dbone and another dude. i got to the river first and it was low, as expected, but it was also about 70% froze over so that just wasnt going to work. we drove down lower where there was no ice on the river. as luck would have it, none of us hooked up with anything. just not prime streamer season so thats the way it goes.

Back in the Game

So after not really wetting a line since may, other then about an hour and a half total in turkey, i finally am back home for good and starting to get the rust out of my casting arm. this is not primo streamer season but have chose to chuck meat anyway. after running some errons for 1/2 the day i met up with a buddy of mine to fish for a couple of hours. we managed to move a few fish and land a couple of fish as well. dbone netted a solid buck and i managed 2 smaller fish. it's good to be on the water again.

Our Last Day Out

With me heading back to turkey and my daughter heading back to colorado, then off to college, this was to be our last day on the water for quite awhile. we didnt get out till about 1pm and only had a short few hours. we pounded a short section and only mustered moving a few fish. shayne had a couple of chances but couldnt capitalize on them but did land the only fish of the afternoon,

Sometimes You Get Schooled

went out with dbone and his son drake for a few hours. with the water receeding i thought it would fish really well but this section was quite a bit lower then i had imagined. there was still fish but they were few and far between. shayne landed the most which was only 2 fish, but i was happy to see her land some.
