It felt really nice to be back on the moving waters again after weeks are stillwater. the fishing was pretty shit hot with a bunch offish moved and a good amount landed. nothing big and most fish were in the 14-18 inch range but thats alright it was a sweet ass time

Wiper repellant
Im starting to wonder if that label i was jokingly given last year might be true. i have seen plenty of wipers caught this year already but i have not mustered a single one and today was no different. me and alanna only went out for about and hour but once again not a single one. i did muster a small smallie and alanna came acrossed about a 4ft bull snake on the dirt road, which freaked her the hell out. the season is really just getting started so i still got time for some redemption.

Ice Off
Finally happened on the berry. myself, pat, dbone, thad and his son jake met up at a gas station to top off and get some snacks. we then made the hour drive to the res. it rained for about the 1st hour with a few fish being caught. after a couple hours me and pat parted ways with the rest of the group and headed to the west side and it was slow till almost 2pm and then it got almost stupid. the bite was on. unfortunately the wind picked up at that point and made the casting awefully tough. once the bite kind of slowed down we decided to call it a day. its the 1st time ive seen/fished with pat in about a 1/2 dozen years so it was good to kind of catch up and catch some fish together.

Recon and then some
I took my little one out for a little recon to see if the berry had any fishable water. it had very little and what open water there was you could pretty much walk out there and touch the ice shelf. i fished for about 30 minutes and luckily stumbled upon one solid cuttie. we took a drive all over the lake looking for more open water but there just wasnt hardly any to be found. after we got home i took a drive out to willard since the weather was nice and mustered up 1 smallie
