A quick morning

Myself and matt drove upstream to try and find some water that wasnt just a piss trickle. we found a small section and managed a few fish out of it. it certainly didnt fish as good as it looked but thats the way it often goes

Nephew was in town

My nephew was in town for a couple of days and was anxious to fish so i took him out for a few hours in the morning. he has only tried fly fishing a couple of times and that has only been with me. we threw streamers and he ended up landing a small fish his 1st cast. small or not he had never caught a fish on a fly rod so we were both super stoked. he ended up catching 4 and missing a few others. he was so excited and i was glad that he was able to get into some fish

Back in shape again

After another couple days of heavy rain the rivers were high and chocolate, high enough to make some substantial changes in the river at spots. it looked like i was the 1st one there since the river dropped back into shape which had only been maybe a couple of days before. the water looked great although it was a little lower then id prefer but it was still money and the fish were on the move. the weather was great, the river was in good shape and i got into a lot of fish so it was a fun day.

Fishable again

Between the current high chocolate waters and the last, we caught a day where the river had become fishable. the weather was great but i dont feel the river fished as good as the river was. flows were perfect and the water had some stain but plenty fishable. it didnt fish bad so thats a plus. enjoyable day

A different system

We decided to hit something completely different, in the sense that it was a different river system that we havent fished in a couple of years. we wanted to park down lower but it was heavily posted so we drove upstream aways to the bridge and walked down to our starting point. matt started with a couple solid cutts. hes been fishing it for years and said those were the only cutts hed seen in there. other then that we both got into a fair amount of fish, nothing big but some solid fish. the weather was warm enough that no jackets were required and no guides that needed deicing. was an enjoyable day

A beautiful morning

Its hard to ask for a more pleasant February. even though id prefer we get a good snowpack, this warm weather does feel so much better then a true winter. Anyway the weather was warm, the creek was low, except around the beaver dams and a few fish were caught but nothing picture worthy, although matt did finish the day with an absolute stud. the weather was so pleasant i even threw a mouse for a short while, to no avail of course. it wasnt very productive this day

Got one of my kids out for a few hours

My youngest has been asking for me to take her out so i took a friday off and took a drive. since i was with my daughter it was a more relaxing morning then when fishing with buddies. it wasnt about the fishing so much to me as it was getting my daughter outside. i wouldve let her fish but it was a small stream with tons of trees and brush. not a good combo for someone with basically no experience. anyway we were out for about 5 hours or so and i got lots of action on a small streamer

Recently a productive stretch

this particular stretch of the river has never been much of a productive steretch but will give me the occassional decent day. its been fishing pretty good for us in the last month or so and this day was no different, although it was mostly productive for matt. i didnt do very well but did finish with a good fish. this has been a warm ass weather so the weather was good 

Still balmy out

Utah is having a tropically brutal winter with hardly any snow pack and spring like temps for the last couple of months it seems, we are gonna burn this summer. waters have been typically low and clear for this time of year and we are still finding a few fish but the rivers have been fishing slow 

A solid day

We fished a stretch that isnt often overly productive but it always has potential. today was one of its     better days as we hit solid fish all throughout the stretch. nothing big but most everything was solid in size. the weather was great and with the warmer temps the fish were on the prowl

 

Hit and miss

went out in the morning for a couple of hours. the fishing was slow overall but i found 3 holes/runs that i got into some fish in.

 

More of the same

Me and matt went out on a saturday instead of sunday and on a warm day. we need some good snow to get rid of some of these people off the rivers and on the slopes. we fished 2 stretches. the 1st one fished much better then normal but it didnt take long before we ran into people above us. we walked out and went lower where the water did seem a little more staind due to the rains, which we felt was borderline clarity for streamers. we moved a couple fish but that was it.
