Cured an itch

Me and Matt drove a little ion the other direction to see some water that we havent hit since last year. it fished pretty decent but it was all, but one, on streamers. i did muster one cuttie when we came acrossed a run that had a few risers. i landed a real nice brown and matt a banger of a cutt. the weather was great and although i would have rather caught them on dries, im happy the streamer bite was solid.

Something different

Decided to take willow out to the big lake to get in some cardio, swimming and stick fetching. i brought my rod so i could make some casts while mixing in puppy time. willow got more then wore out and i caught a solid bass, smallie i think.

In search of Cicadas and Green Drakes

The cicadas were out in full force but the drakes were no where in sight. the water was actually in a little better shape then i was picturing. the 1st piece of water i hit didnt produce damnit but the 2nd piece relinquished a few fish including one big ass brown. i say big ass cause the creek in most places was only about 6ft wide or so. got 1 on a cicada and the rest were on green drake patterns. turned out to be a productive morning.

Back for 2nds

Went back to last weeks spot with hopes of the fishing getting better for awhile. again, it was decent although we didnt see fish for about an hour or 2, which was very odd. we did finally starting to find some fish again, although not on the pace as earlier in the morning, but we got into a few more farther up. there were a few drakes coming off early but we caught a hatch later in the day. there were also a small numbers of golden stones coming off as well. there was a lot of active feeders but they appeared to be focusing on emergers. all in all it was another solid day.

Logun in town

Logun came in town to fish with me and matt so we got on the road at 4am. we got to the water at around 630 and happily there was no one around. matt started with a damsel nymph and got on the board 1st. i threw a mouse for starters but it wasnt long before i switched to drake dry. logun took a minute to get on the board as well. the weather was great all day except the wind, it started up within the 1st couple of hours and never let up. it was a pretty solid day with some solid fish to hand.
