Chepeta Lake

Since me Austin and Michelle were visiting an aunt in Roosevelt me and Austin were able to escape up to the slope and try our luck in the mountains. we drove up to Chepeta lake. there had been recent storms and monsoon rains in areas of the Uinta's and the Chepeta lake area was an area that got hit. near the lake there was actually snow in patches on the ground and this was just a couple weeks ago. roads were damp and mud puddles were fool. although the drive was very pleasant, given he fact it was in the mountains, but the lakes were real low and the fishing was null and void. we didn't stay were long though. we also walked behind the Chepeta and tried to fish another one but it was crazy low 

Back to the small water

We headed out at 0530ish was was probably a little early for where we were going and i think the fishing showed early on. the fishing did pick up once the sun started to warm things up and although it was a bit slow for me we still had a good day. i also got to try out a new rod i got due to me breaking my last 3 weight the weekend before on the same water. this lower end Echo was perfect. love it as a 3 weight

 

Me and Austin

 The 2 of us and michelle drove to roosevelt to visit some of my wifes family. me and austin drove up to the mountain to take a look at the Chepeta lake area. i had fished up there once before and caught the most gorgeous cuttie i have caught but that was a few years ago. this time due to Utahs extreme drought conditions, the lakes that we saw were awfully low. we fished for a real short minute then chalked it up to an enjoyable getting out in the mountains.
