Went over to Pocatello to help my buddy dbone to make different flavors of dubbing to be packaged and sold, it was a pretty cool process to see. the next morning we drove over to Twin Falls and met up with dbones buddies and took a 14 mile float down the S.F. Snake. the fishing pretty much sucked as far as fish goes but we did move a few, caught plenty of 8-10 inch fish but at least the float was nice. a storm blew in during our last mile so at least the weather held off.

Something different
Decided to forego trout and chase musky/bass instead. unfortunately i did not get into any musky but did manage to get into a few Smallmouths. the weather was perfect, the water was low, a few fish were interested and the morning started with a banger sunrise . made for a decent day on the water.

A few AM hours
Met matt extra early this time to get a head start on the competition. the morning was chilly but the water was surprisingly comfy. flows were still a tad high but certainly doable. the fishing sucked for the 1st 3/4 of the morning with only a couple fish seen. i finally did manage a good fish just before we were finished. its tough enough when the fishing is slow but throw in higher flows and that equals an extremely draining day

Meat chucking
we gave dry flies a break and chose streamers instead. the flows were up a bit which made wading a challenge but we were able to get into some fish, including some real nice ones but the real nice ones we could not get to hand. surprised at nicely colored up already.

Shut out
Braved a long ride with my jeep to check out some water i hadnt seen yet this year. i bypassed the stretches i usually fish over there to look at something less fished. i got rigged up with a hopper and made the long walk down to the river and continued further downstream till i couldnt. fished up a good stretch but couldnt conjure a single fish. there were also a lot of beaver action in that area. once i got back up to the jeep and drove upstream some more and fish a small piece. the water was pretty damn low up there and the results were the same, notta

An old favorite
We drove elsewhere for a change of pace to what used to be, hasnt fished overly well in the last few years, a favorite fall creek for me. i still fish it a few times a year but it doesnt seem to be what it was a few years ago. anyway, we drove up and fished the upper reaches of it and the beavers have wrecked havoc with dam after dam. even crazier that we only saw 1 fish that was at least 16". may come a time where it becomes a once every few years type of stream. bummer

Called it early
We were the 1st ones there and had walked down just a bit to start but within an hour and a half or so we got high holed. when i popped around the bend 2 dudes and a chick were standing there fishing and they asked if we were heading up which i said yes to but the dude insisted they would go up and start a little higher up, fuck tard! so we caught up to them quickly and as we took a wide detour to get considerably around them, they quickly got out and started to bolt upstream, appearing to try and stay above us, which really pissed us off and so matt laid into the dude and by the time we got back to the truck and tried to find some good water lower, there people everywhere. so we just called it a day. people have no river etiquette. what a waste of a drive but we did get into a couple fish at least.
