Only about 2 weeks left till the spawn truly gets going so its almost time to give these lovely creatures a brake till the spawn is over. i checked flows late afternoon yesterday and they looked pretty decent. went out this morning and the flows had dropped again. the river is super small but we were there so we fished anyway. not much fish activity but we did get into a couple of real nice fish. other then that the morning kind of sucked in regards to seeing fish.
as we arrived at the river we could see that the water came down a little again and unfortunately cleared up a bit as well. low and clear is not a good combo and between the 2 of us, matt caught 1 small rainbow. the end
Went out and took a walk along the river to see how things were looking. the water was still low but had come up a little since the last time i fished this section but this time instead of real clear it had a greenish hue to it and it looked pretty good. fished my way up throwing streamers. switched up a few times with white being the winning flavor. saw a good amount of fish, including some dark fish but none of the really orange/buttery goodness though. landed a couple
Went out for a short minute. fished for only an hour or so. the water is really low again but still managed to get into a few fish
Havent fished this section in a couple of years. it had some fish kill issues a couple years back so really didnt know what to expect. the water was still a bit higher then preferred but still low enough to fish. we were hoping, of course, that it would fish better but it pretty much sucked, especially for this time of year. dont think i caught anything and matt only mustered 1 or 2 but his last one was a pretty good fish but my photos came out like shit on that fish so my pics didnt do it justice

Myself and matt made the log drive over and Logun drove over to meet us. me and matt fished this piece last september and it was one of the better days fly fishing ive ever had, mice were the ticket. we had high hopes of the saem kind of fishing that we were blessed with last year. didnt quite work out the same. it has been a much wetter year this year and it does seem to have affected the fishing at times. between the 3 of us we had good numbers but all of them were on streamers for matt and logun. i got a few on streamers when i switched but i mostly stuck to my guns on mice and a few other dries so i did not have the same success but still managed to damage some foam through out the day. the weather was nice, maybe 10 degrees or so cooler then last september but it was a good day anyway.
It was my friday off so i got up at 5am to get ready to head out the door to check out some water. the last time i fished that section it was fairly low. was hoping for some more water this go round but it was still pretty low. i still managed to land a couple of fish but most importantly i missed a better fish that was all colored up. its nice to see the browns starting to get their fall on.
