Logun made the drive over

Myself and matt made the log drive over and Logun drove over to meet us. me and matt fished this piece last september and it was one of the better days fly fishing ive ever had, mice were the ticket. we had high hopes of the saem kind of fishing that we were blessed with last year. didnt quite work out the same. it has been a much wetter year this year and it does seem to have affected the fishing at times. between the 3 of us we had good numbers but all of them were on streamers for matt and logun. i got a few on streamers when i switched but i mostly stuck to my guns on mice and a few other dries so i did not have the same success but still managed to damage some foam through out the day. the weather was nice, maybe 10 degrees or so cooler then last september but it was a good day anyway.

The lower

It was my friday off so i got up at 5am to get ready to head out the door to check out some water. the last time i fished that section it was fairly low. was hoping for some more water this go round but it was still pretty low. i still managed to land a couple of fish but most importantly i missed a better fish that was all colored up. its nice to see the browns starting to get their fall on. 

Just beat the mud

When i started at light it was raining pretty good but, the flows were decent and the water was clear. fished for about 2 hrs but on the walk back down stream to the jeep there was absolute chocolate dumping into the river from one of the lower little feeder streams that ruined the river. i moved a couple of good fish but didnt catch much.

 

Couldve been a bit lower

Me and matt drove over to some moving water and although i figured 156cfs wouldve been fine, and it was, but that cfs in that particular stretch made wading a bit tough in some areas and crossing in a couple of spots was a bit tough as well.  the fishing started off shit hot with matt landing a 22" brown in the 1st run. we thought we were in for a sweet day but we only mustered a couple of fish between us.

Stillwater hunting

Drove over to the big water after a favorable report from matts boss. it came from boat/gear fishing but it was something to go by. we tried a totally new spot to both of us. we had a great weather but the fishing pretty much sucked. it was a long shoreline to fish to and land a small few fish. it was still a nice change a piece from the rivers. we fished streamers, balanced leeches and a frog

1 night of camping

Took Austin out camping for what was supposed to be 2 nights but on our 2nd day later in the afternoon, mother nature didnt want us there anymore so we packed up during the downpour and headed home. it was a bad ass little spot off the road and kind of out of site and also right on the river. i had finally decided to go throw some dries and after about an hour of fishing is when mother nature made her presence felt. not before i at least saw a few fish, although only landing 1. it was just starting to get good too.

Not a good day of catching

We saw some really nice fish but between 2 of us matt caught the only fish of the day but at least it was a decent cuttie which there arent many of in this section.
