5 days off...day 2

Headed out to throw streamers and target bigger browns. its my 1st time seeing that section of water since the insanely high runoff that flooded everything around. that section of river, to me, improved. it fishes much better now with more options to fish. i started my morning in the 2nd run with my fish of the day and did get into a few other nice fish but after my big fish everything else to hand was small. was a fun day

5 days off...Day 1

Started my 5 days off in a row with streamers and it sucked. the flows have dropped tremendously and that section of river looks like ass. it lost a lot of good holes and runs and didnt really gain much. shitty but the weather was nice and i did get into a handful of fish including one 2fterish but once it came out of the water it came unhooked.

A different system

Its dry fly season for us but with all the run off weve been having that has been put on hold. the flows finally came down to fishable but the fish were not looking up. we switched to streamers and got into a few fish but that was really slow as well. matt did land 1 good one though. weather was great and it was nice to shed the waders.

A small window

We headed back to the water to see a stretch that we hadnt seen since the big run off. its an almost complete different river and looks like there is a ton of potential for some real nice runs and holes once the flows finally drop to the norm. the 1st 5 minutes produced the fish of the day and we did muster a few more throughout the day. its gonna be fun learning the new water.

A drop in flows

some water recently dropped in flows due to some reservoirs being filled. it was a good opportunity to get out so i took advantage before they raised the flows again. me and matt to a look at some water. flows were about 140cfs. we fished up quite aways and ran into a few fish but we were certainly hoping for some better numbers and fish. as always though it was still nice to get out and chuck some streamers

 

Back to the Berry

Me and matt shot out to the res again. started with streamers but after a couple miles of shoreline and no fish i switched to nymphing. 1st cast landed a cuttie. at that point we both switched to nymphs and both landed about 30-40 fish each. more rainbows then wed ever seen out there. my fish shit the bed so no pics

The berry

Me and matt took off to the berry couple fridays ago. we made the long walk to the lake both strung up with streamers. we fished our way to our destination point with streamers not producing a whole lot. matt switched up to nymphing but i stuck with streamers. final score was about 50-6 in matts favor. oh well. the weather was very pleasant which made the day a bit better
