Up a bit further

Was solo so i drove upriver a little bit to fish a section i dont get out to much.  the morning temps werent to bad and there was no one else around. i moved quite a few fish but only landed a few. pretty fun morning

Very short day off

Met up with matt before the sun came up but we only lasted about an hour. it was brutally cold so matt called it and i relocated. nobody was around this short stretch so jumped in. got into a good amount of fish but it was isolated to certain runs. landed my 1st 20" of the year so that was a bonus.

 

Still to cold for after work

Drove over to the river after work for an hour or 2. the whole section was in the shade and the sun was down when i got done. still way to cold for any late in the day excursions for me, fingers hurt. did get into a few fish though

Slush central

 drove to a couple of lower spots on the river but at both locations there was lots slush and ice floating down so drove up till i found some good fishable water. to bad it wasnt overly good but good to get out as always. i did lose my net for a bit but came acrossed it on my way out

More of the same

We started on a lower piece of this section but it proved to not fish worth a shit. afterwards we drove up further where it wasnt much better. fish are still not overly active

A surprise section

 most of the lower water was really dirty so had to go quite aways upstream to find fishable water. the 1section i hit was very uneventful with only moving 1 single fish but based on the side of the fish i saw, i was sure close to a 2 footer. drove up even further to a section that usually is pretty low this time of year but for some reason has water. moved quite a few fish and mustered 3 fish in the 17 inch range. not very productive but it was nice to see some water in the river there.

A new year

 Went out for a few hours with matt. the weather was pleasant but cool and the fish were not quite active yet. we landed a few but nothing of any size. still nice to get into some fish
