A trip south (Duck fork)

 Swung by chris's and we took a little drive south. everything looked good driving to the lake although rain was forcasted. as we arrived at the lake there was some darkness above in the close proximity. on the water about 30 minutes or so and the rains came, then the thunder and lightning. we took shelter in the truck for a few to see if the storms would move on. they did not and it just continued to dump. it was time to call it and chock it up as a fishing lose. beautiful area though.

Early morning solo trip

Got up at 0430 to be out of the house by 5. its usually a 2 and 1/2 hr trip but as it turned out it took me 5 hours to get on the water. was gonna fish the lower piece but for the 1st time ever, i seen someone else the to fish and they got there a few minutes before me cause they had just started to walk the trail as i pulled up. now i had to back track to get to some upper water which set me back an hour or so. got to the top and there wasnt anyone around. i went up high to fish some water that weve caught some good fish on and the fish seemed to be pretty non existant. i just kept working my way downstream, section by section and slowly started seeing a few fish. i did finally land 1 fish and lost another. never seen it fish so poorly and i wonder if it has to do with the weather. it was chillier and stormy with a little bit of rain.

On the slope

Hadnt hit the slope yet this year so me and matt made the jaunt. the weather was great, the water was good but the fishing was pretty shitty i dont recall rainbows before in river #1 but we caught mostly little rainbows with a few small brookies mixed in. after that piece of water we took a drive elsewhere where it wasmostly small fish as well, aside from a much nicer cuttie i caught. most of the fish were in the 6-10 inch range. the peace and quiet and the scenery make all the difference in the world up there.

Took Austin out for a few

 The flows had dropped in half so the river was all of a sudden fishable. austin wanted to get out so off we went. the fishing was shitty as austin only moved 1 fish and i moved only a few but i didnt go skunked so i guess it was better then nothing. the weather was great though. we got there at 0600 and were back at the jeep by 0900. 

Trying to get to some cooler temps

 me, matt and logun took a drive to try and get to some cooler temps. the temps were a bit cooler but the water was so low it was tough to find fish to play with. we did catch a handful each but nothing but and very few cutts. ive never fished it that low and the flows definately hurt the fishing. the weather was great, a bit warm but still great. 

A good day with the fellas

I took one of my sons camping for a night and then dropped him off and drove to meet up with matt and logun for a night of camping and then a full day of fishing. ive only fished that water once this early, i prefer it in the fall. it fished ok, but the weather was great till late afternoon when the winds really picked up. i actually bailed a bit earlier then the other 2 but they only picked up a couple of fish after i left. we each only mustered a few fish, all on streamers except one i caught looking up at my beetle pattern.

Mya the fair weather fishing dog

Took Mya out a couple times this weekend. went out to pineview for a couple hours in the morning and the weeb in the evening. we also found out that mya knows how to swim, it was also myas 1st interaction with a cow. she was intrigued
