A late start

Had to wait till matt got of work and to the river which wasnt till 4pm. he showed up with dakota in tow. the 3 of us fished till the sun started to go down. it was pretty sub par  and i didnt even catch a fish till the very last run and it was all of about 11 inches, maybe 12 if i stretched it. it was still enjoyable and i was able to fish higher in that section then i had in years.

Me, my wife and a short hike

I always enjoy when my wife wants to get out with me either in the mountains or on the river. this was one of those times. it was her first hike (castle)

of the year so she wanted a short one and this was definately a very short one. there was no trail so it was boulder climbing and climbing over large rocks.  the hike was to a very small lake that i had never seen before and didnt know much about. what little info i have said cutthroats but all we caught were tigers. it wasnt a very long outing but we had fun and we needed the outing together.

The spin guy

Took a buddy, jason out today. he is a spin fisherman so of course i was hoping to put a beatin on him in the catch category but that did not happen. we both ended up landing 3 a piece but i did land the biggest so i guess that counts for something.

Down river

just went out for about an hour, fished below the bridge just to see how the water has changed since run off. for the most part it is the same. moved a few fish while landing one.

Plan B

I was gonna hit a recently water level dropped section of the river but my buddy matt had said that he was getting off a few hours before and was gonna hit it. i didnt want to fish a section that was pounded by someone that i know knows what hes doing so i selected a plan B to fish instead. im glad it worked out that way cause my day turned out much better then theres. i went up a lot further then i had since the water had finally dropped and of course after 3 months of flooding the river had definately made some changes. some good holes arent what they used to be and there were some new holes that produced really well. that is usually the case after long periods of high water. caught about a dozen fish including one that was 21 inches and a couple that were a shade under 20. i lost a few and moved a bunch. it was the best day ive had so far this year.

Mid week

went out the other day to a section that had just recently come into shape. i took one fish right off the bat then spent the next couple of hours just moving fish.
