Should've Stuck With my First Instinct

the morning started off extremely windy, gusts up to 50 mph, according to a weather report i got. it was very difficult to find my line while stripping cause the wind was playing with the slack line quite a bit, which i blame for me missing several fish. i had fished up quite a ways and noticed a nasty storm coming over the mountains and my first thought was that maybe i should start heading back to the jeep and calling it a day, but cause the fishing had been decent to that point, i trumped my first instinct and decided that i would keep going and hope that maybe the storm would miss me. bad move! the storm was on me in no time starting with some thunder and a little lightning accompanied with that wind and then the sleet. i briefly tried to take shelter under some small bushes and hoped it was soon pass, that was a pointless move, i was getting soaked, and soaked to the bone in a hurry. screw it, i realized it was here to stay and it proved to be a miserable long walk back to the jeep. wind and sleet blowing into me and stingy my face. it took me about 35-40 minutes to get back to the jeep and it took a long time to warm up as i was soaked to the core.

A Stellar Day

Today was definately my best day of the year. i moved a shit load of fish and landed a good number of them. i fished down with an olive/yellow combo which was really putting in some good work. on the way back up i switched to an orange yeti and it was able to hold its own as well.

Till it was to Much for my Back

i finally got most of a full day in. i wanted to keep fishing my way up but cause of my back issues my back was on fire and had had enough. today it seemed like a switch was turned on cause even though i only moved 11 fish, i sealed the deal on 7 of them. the fish defiantly seemed more aggressive

today, in fact i had 3 of them that completely swallowed inhaled the streamer.

Another Slow Day.......

is in the books. very uncharacteristically of this river the fish had a serious case of lock jaw. although we moved a few fish and dbone mustered 2 of them, we covered so much good water just to be denied time after time. with each passing week we are one closer to full swing meat season.

small fish need love too

decided to scope out some different waters. its always nice to change things up once in awhile from the norm. the river holds smaller fish on average but thats just fine cause smaller fish eat streamers too. the first half of the day i didnt move a single fish but spooked quite a few and the second half of the day was a lot more productive.

A Lot of Effort for a Few Fish

Me and dbone made a long trek on some good water, but as it turned out the fish are still warming up to the idea of chasing streamers. i think we are still about a month away from streamer season being in full swing but with everyday passing we are getting that much closer.
