My Church

Jake and i drove off to get a taste of something different the other day. the fishing was a bit slow, it had it's moments and the weather was decent for over there. jake nymphed most of the day and i threw meat most of the day. jake caught a few more then me, in fact i only moved 2 fish but luckily landed both. i ended up with a 19" 'bow' and a 20" brown. not bad be we were hoping to pull something a couple inches bigger.

After Work

I picked up ali from daycare, drove home to get saxon and we made the short drive to the water. the weather was great and the water had sub sided quite a bit in the last day or two. rigged up with streamers as usual and they managed to pull some fish. not a phenomenal outing but decent. i let ali fight a fish but she struggled getting the rod tip up and she ended up losing that fish.

Don't Let This Warm Weather Fool You

Things are still frozen up. me and chris drove to a certain piece of water but the river was frozen up. we decided to check out a nearby res., but it was froze up as well. option C it was the water and the weather were great, but the fishing was crappy. a couple of small fish nymphed up for both of us.

No Victory Today

went to chase some toothy ones today.  no such luck, couldn't even muster a bass. i wasn't gonna be picky but i struck out. that's the way it goes sometimes. just took some pictures

A Respectable Day

I let austin play hookie today from school and took him to the river instead.  we joined up with dbone and headed out. was a pretty good day. no big browns like i was hoping but some decent brooks and a couple of solid rainbows.

1st Stillwater of the Year......

Proved to be unproductive but a nice change of pace. lots of rain and warmer temp's have messed up some of the rivers so i drove up to a lake and one of the fingers was thawed out so i gave it a whirl. i only managed one small rainbow on a chironomid. jake showed up as i was nearly done so we drove down to the creek for a short minute. i stuck to my guns with streamers and came up empty handed and jake quickly switched to nymphs and killed it. i think i will head back over there this week with my nymph box.
