1st stillwater attempt of the year.

 me and matt took a drive north to see the stillwater conditions. there was some open water but not really as much in the places i wouldve liked to have seen it. i think we were a week or two early but it was still an enjoyable day none the less.

Spiked flows

 I happen to go out the days after the flows, locally anyway, spiked from under 100 to around 600 then right back down to around 100cfs. big fluxes in water conditions usually fuck the fish up for a couple days. it was slow and didnt land anything till my last hole.

Twas a killer day

Myself and matt met at the river before sunup. we parked one vehicle upstream then drove downstream to fish up. from the time we got on the river till the time we left it rained on us all day. got soaked to the bone but since it was my jeep that was dropped off upstream, i was able to walk to the jeep and change my hoodie and jacket while matt had to continue in his soaked shit. water had a slight tint, but it was still almost perfect. we needed about 35-40 between us. nothing really big but we got a few in the 20" range.

After work

 As soon as i was off work, i was out of the house headed to the river. its nice now with the days being longer. i fished up from the bridge quite aways and as soon as i switched to a tan streamer, it was on. moved a bunch and landed a handful.

Something new

 me and chris were gonna take a bit of a stroll south for some ice off action but the report wasnt great so we decided to stay a bit closer. we still found some ice off bit it wasnt much and we didnt see any fish. its a res. i hadnt seen before so i will have to take another look some other time

Weekday off

 Had a couple of appt's in the morning so i just went ahead and took the whole day off. after the appt's i headed to the river. no one was really out so i had the river to myself. was a pretty good afternoon

Sunday morning stroll

 Went out for a few hours in the morning while the family slept. the fishing was pretty good with a couple 20's caught and 1 two footer missed.

Saturday morning quickie

 got the river while it was still dark. fished all the way to the top of the section but with the water as low as it is and the fishable holes at were minimal. i had fished my way thru and was done by 0900. most everything around here still needs water. the fishing stasrted off hot but then fizzled
