Wipers

Picked up Ali after school and headed to the lake to chase some wipers. it was very slow, we only landed 1 fish but it was a good one. jake landed a few and we took a couple of his home so he didnt want them.

The Tri Fecta

I started off at the lake, was there for 3hrs and didnt see a fish. i then hit the river with gerald  for a couple of hours and again nothing. then hit me and gerald went to another lake and that proved to be a bit more productive

A little boat ride

Sent an invite out to fish for some wipers and that guy was already heading out with his boat so he offered me a ride. there were no wipers to be found but i landed a smallmouth and gerald a largemouth

Ice off

Myself and matt met up with dbone and nate for some ice off stillwater play time. it was a productive day  if you are into 13 inch planter rainbows but if you are into bigger fish it was pretty slow, except for for matt. he landed a few really nice fish. myself, i rigged one rod with a mouse and the other with a leech tandem. leeches pulled small rainbows but i did get into a few fish on the mouse. the only one that i hooked up with wouldve been without a doubt the largest trout i wouldve ever caught. had him hooked but after he gave a few body splashes on top that mouse came flying right back at me. me and matt both agreed it was a 30 inch fish and matt said it was the largest he'd ever seen on that water. it will haunt me for a long time. matt on the other hand, while tossing some small leeches took a few fish that were sizeable including one that was 26 cutt. nate and dbone landed some smaller fish

I went out to hopefully pick up a wiper or 2 in this very early stage of the wiper season. the weather wasnt to bad but no wipers yet. i did however, on my 2nd cast, land a walleye and later a crappie. both were firsts on a fly rod for me. i was stoked after the walleye but really stoked after the crappie as well

Was only supposed to be evening showers

As unluck would have it the moisture started almost immediately for me and chris. it started off as a sprinkle at first but then slowly picked up and became a pretty solid rain for the rest of the day. the wknd before i did pretty well with streamers and there were no fish rising. on this day there were a lot of fish rising and our streamers weren't getting much attention. chris also had a rod rigged with chironomids  and mustered a few bows on those. i did get 3 on a streamer but no big fish this time. chris landed the biggest fish of the day, a 19 inch bow. we did see quite a few critters on the way there and back

Typical

As usual the bigger fish that i moved did not come to hand but a couple of small(er) fish did. i ended up with this 17 inch brown and about a 10 inch cutt. saw a couple that pushed 20 but i never got a meet and greet with them

Good times

I had a bail so took the drive solo anyway. i wasnt expecting anyone there but thought if there was it would be maybe one car, there was 3 but i still didnt see anyone on the water i was fishing. other then the nasty wind all day, the fishing wasnt bad and there was some good fish landed.
