Hooked up with nate for a few hours. the fishing was incredibly slow but i did manage to get into a 24 inch brown which is my biggest moving water fish this year.

A day off
didnt head out till around 10:30, giving the temps a chance to warm up. the first piece i tried to fish had to much ice so i went up stream. ice wasnt an issue up there but the fishing was still slow as it usually is this soon after the spawn. i did muster 1 fish out of a deeper slow run that usually doesnt do anything for me

Looking to get out of state, but didnt
Me and matt were gonna head out of state but there was a chance he could get called into work so we stayed pretty close to home. it snowed all daay but the temps were pretty decent, still had to beak ice off guides all day but it wasnt to bad. only 3 fish between the 2 of us and no pics of any fish. it was a terribly slow day but still always good to get out

An improvement
it was raining today so i changed my mind about not going and decided to go and throw streamers anyway. there was just a sprinkling on the water when i got there but that quickly turned to snow. i liked the weather and the fish were moving a lot more then they were earlier in the week.

Checkin on the spawn
Decided to go out and see where the spawn is at. its time for it to be wrapping up. had no expectations on the fishing and put a focus on the deeper stuff to see if maybe the fish had settled in. saw a lot of redds but only 2 still had fish. chucked a streamer of course and mustered 1 fish

Last planned stillwater trip of the year
matt and dakota picked me up a little after 6am. we got to the west side of the lake around 830am but the finger i wanted to fish, based on last years november production, was all dried up. the water this november is a lot lower then last. we drove over to a good looking cove and made the long hike down to the lake from the road only to find very little fishy water due to the water levels. hiked back out and headed to the east side and even though we got into some fish, a majority were dink planter rainbows. for example, i caught 13 fish, all rainbows and nothing over 12 inches. matt was the only one to muster anything decent.

Already froze over
Me and chris took a drive over to the ponds but there was a small minimal of open ice, none of which was really fishable for us. we were there for about an hour and a half then on the weay out we swung by the MP which was how i remember it from years ago. we were there only about an hour. saw some cruising 4-legged critters though
