me and dbone drove south of the border to fish some different non flooded waters. the temps actually werent to bad if it wasnt for the miserable wind all damn day. the wind did not let up at all. the fishing was ok with both of us getting into a handful of fish. the day was worth the drive for sure

Me and scott met at 0600 at our usual rendezvous spot and after a top off of the jeep we were on our way. we got to the river, my all time utah favorite, and it looked dynomite and right away we had high expectations. i hadnt fished it in about 3 years, mainly cause i had been out of the country for 2 of them. the road was cleared up to a certain point and then it was just way to deep in snow and we would have surely gotten stuck. we didnt get to fish either section that we wanted to but have had good days lower on the river. well it wasnt one of those days cause we didnt hardly see a fish. i moved 2 small fish and that was it for us. it was only 10:30 so instead of continuing the no fish theme, we walked back to the jeep and took a drive elsewhere. we drove to a much bigger river and the fishing wasnt a whole lot better but we did at least land a few.

Today felt just like a nice warm spring day. got to the river at about 8am and was back at my jeep right at 2pm. the fishing was decent, caught a few, lost a few and missed a few, a mixed bag. the biggest fish i caught had a nice little groove wore in the top of its head. the fish were non existant for about the first 2hrs, then i starting getting into a few. the weather got super nice and the temps really warmed up, i had heard about 48 degrees. the only bummer to the day was tredging thru the snow all the way back to the jeep. i was sweating so bad then had to drive home in my cold sweat.

Myself and dbone were invited to come do a tying demo at the Snakeriver fly shop, in Pocatello, Idaho. it was a fun little gig and we had a really good time meeting and bullshitting with some people. we ended up crashing with a friend of dbones at his house. the next morning we got up and headed to the river with the hopes of getting into some big fish. the river did not disappoint. even with the single digit temps. the fish were biting. we only landed a few really nice fish but it was worth the freeze.
